Doctor

  • Dr. Lisa Lomsnes , BSa. DVM


    Dr. Lisa Lomsnes graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the  University of Saskatchewan in 1991.  She moved from Saskatchewan to Alberta and is an active member in the community.  Dr. Lisa's husband, Del is a school teacher at Ecole Oriole Park School. Their two children, Tanner and Kaitlyn  are very active in all year sports and have traveled extensively.  
    Sadie, their Golden Retriever, comes daily with Dr. Lisa and don't be suprised to be welcomed by a friendly lick.  We are sad to announce the passing of Corkie at the age of 17 on Oct. 25, 2008. He came to the clinic daily for 10 years. With only 3 legs and a cuddly personality, he touched the hearts of all that saw him.

  • Sheila Rangen , DVM


    Dr. Sheila Rangen earned her degree with distinction from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. Her doctoral degree in wildlife biology provides a strong foundation for her work in exotics and science-based medicine. Dr. Sheila enjoys all aspects of companion animal medicine and surgery, particularly preventative medicine and dentistry. She was born and raised in Red Deer, and resides with her husband and three dogs.  Dr. Sheila has participated in canine flyball, bird dog trials, and enjoys camping, sports, travelling, and reading.Vetsuite_Img_74534

  • Cathy Dick , DVM


    Dr. Cathy was the Gold Medalist in her graduating class of 2006 at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. She brings enthusiasm and up-to-date knowledge to the practice. Internal medicine and Dermatology are areas of special interest.
    Dr. Cathy has competed for many years in several dog sports including agility, conformation, and fly ball. Her true love is agility and she continues to compete with her Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers (Tollers), and Boston Terrier. In addition to agility, Dr. Cathy enjoys walking, reading, and cooking. She shares her life with her tollers, four cats, a cagefull of finches, and one tiny, but feisty, Boston Terrier.


Management

  • Trina Scriba


    Trina was raised on a Northern Alberta farm which included many different animals.  She shares her home with her 2 Rednose Pitbulls Remi and Rogue.  Trina enjoys horseback riding and  plays on various volleyball teams.  She also is an extremely loyal fan of the Edmonton Oilers.

Technician

  • Lindsey Byers , Animal Health Technologist


    Lindsey started working at Lomsnes Veterinary Hospital in 2002 as an assistant and is now an Animal Health Technologist.  She took her training at Olds College and graduated with distinction in 2005.  Lindsey and her fiance share their home with Kira their rescue Doberman, who likes to dabble in agility and rally-o, Odin who is taking puppy obedience classes and their two cats.

  • Amber Levy , Animal Health Technologist


    Amber moved from the Maritimes in 2007. She graduated as an Animal Health Technologist from the Nova Scotia Agriculture College in 1997.  Amber shares her home with her husband Kyle, their daugher Sydney, one dog, four cats, and two guinea pigs.  Amber and her daughter also enjoy riding and showing horses.

    Kate graduated from the Animal health Technology program at Olds colleg in 2008.  She shares her home with her 14 year old lab, Jake.  Her special interest is with exotic animals.

Reception

  • Jillian Brownlee


    Jillian moved to Red Deer from Revelstoke, BC with her orange tabby Little Luce.   She graduated from the Veterinary Medical Receptionist program offered at  Olds College.  Her interests include reading, watching movies, cooking, and playing tennis.


Assistants

  • Shelly Hand


    Shelly brings to the clinic many years of raising and training dogs in conformation, obedience and agility.  Shelly shares her home with  two wonderful children and her husband Randy, who also share in her dog interests.  Shelly also has three Australian Shepherds, three Papillons, a Border Collie, German Shepherd, and her husband's new Kelpie puppy.  Shelly is a founding member of the Pawsitive Agility and K-9 Sports team who hold two agility trials a year.

  • Amanda Newlands

    Amanda was born and raised in Red Deer.  She graduated in 2006 with a BSc. in Biological Sciences from U of  A.  Cash,  Amanda's dog is one of the  "greeters" at the clinic and he always enjoys showing off some of his tricks!  Amanda enjoys numerous sports including golf, volleyball,  and snowboarding.
